Where do you see evidence of sympathy and tolerance in the world?

In what circumstance or situation could bringing more sympathy and tolerance to a situation bring a higher level of healing to the situation?

What can each of us do as individuals to be more sympathetic and tolerant? Be specific about what you can do and in what area or situation you would like to focus your actions.

I saw evidence of sympathy and tolerance in the new US President's Inauguration speech. I am praying that his personal strengths, education, and service oriented work experiences are able to be actioned for the good of the country, and the world. And so it will be! :-)

Oh, my goodness! I see it all around me every day. I go to web forums and people are offering help and advice to someone in trouble. I drive to the store and see someone pull over to help out a woman struggling with a overturned cart. I go to Kiva.com and see hundreds of people giving freely to assist complete strangers become self sufficient.

Every situation we encounter requires sympathy and tolerance, although we have to be careful so that our sympathy doesn't devolve into pity, with it's "oh, poor you" connotations. I don't think giving out those thoughts is helpful to the other person!

For me, recognizing that the person is my sister, mother, daughter, brother, father, son makes feeling sympathy and tolerance a lot easier. Since the same Source created us all, we are indeed all "related."

It's odd though. I seem to be seeing many more instances of sympathy and tolerance (and downright love!) today. Have other people changed? Perhaps. But, more likely, I have changed and am seeing things more clearly now, seeing the GOOD that permeates all of us. Either way, it's great!

This morning I witnessed activity of Spirit as I took my morning walk. Living near a cemetary, a long stretch opens up areas where one may view in to activity. I noticed two military men near a open grave with a large American flag covering the cement casing for the coffin. Upon my return friends and relatives were standing nearby, the flag now presented to them. I paused for a moment listening to the playing of the Taps. Spirit within me joined in thought prayers for them This is evidence of sympathy. Tolerance was in not mentally jumping in to begin forming judgements and building resentment with people, places and things as to why this is so. Ofcourse I cannot prove the individual being placed into the ground was in Iraq just weeks ago. It was an overiding of love which for me matched up to the Unity saying of the day.

As I travel around "The Valley of the Sun" (Phoenix, AZ) as "The Little Ol' Lady AND the SHOES"...I have come face-to-face with the energies of COMPASSION, ACCEPTANCE, TOLERANCE & PEACE...in the hearts of CHILDREN sharing their 'gently-worn' SHOES for a Child having NO SHOES, at ALL.

Very often, a individual experience brings tears to My eyes...but such JOY to My Heart...as I "See" the blessings which the UNIVERSE & its future can/will hold. These children exude PEACE!!! Their essence of COMPASSION & Humanitarianism is 'simply' amazing. Children have, instantly, recognized their ability to SHARE & when provided with an opportunity...will comply generously. What an amazing epiphany it is to witness!!!

This 'Little Ol' Lady AND the SHOES" is so very GRATEFUL to be a 'student' of the Worlds Children. The LESSONS are powerFULL & life-changing. The key is to, literally, "Listen to the Whisper" & STEP FORward with the INTENTION: PEACE!!!
