Paul:

A few lines to express my gratitude for the valuable spiritual lessons that you so powerfully deliver through your show.

Lao Tzu and Chuang Tzu were the chief proponents of the Taoist philosophy. Chuang Tzu is quoted as saying that spiritual teachings and the words used to convey those teachings were as fishing baskets.

"Fishing baskets are employed to catch fish; but when the fish are got, the men forget the baskets... Words are employed to convey ideas; but when the ideas are grasped, men forget the words". The point is not to amass a collection of baskets but to catch fish.

Thanks for keeping the emphasis on the "fish" and providing such an abundance and rich variety.

I haven't listened for a while so I really need to catch up. I always enjoy your show. Within the last year I also watched the old Bill Moyers/Joseph Campbell interviews & COULD NOT get enough, I get that same feel from many of your guests & look forward to more. Let me know if there is one in archive that I need to listen to sooner than later.

i just recently found the unity fm site, and then your archives with the gospel of thomas series. WOW! i've been reading thomas occasionally for several years (since seeing the movie Stigmata) and find new meanings every time. i photocopied one translation with printed words on only half the page so i could add references, interpretations, etc., on the other side, and it's getting pretty crowded. i liked the 'jesus unsponsored' idea; thomas seems so much more immediate than the other gospels which i've read/heard so often that my mind automatically kicks into the standard interpretation. thanks for the insights!

I enjoy your show very much. The last show about the Bhagavad Gita was so interesting that I was at the book store for hours reading and reviewing the many selections. You recommended
a few versions. Could you reply back as to what those were?
Thanks for a great show and I am looking forward to the next on
the Tao Te Ching.

Yes,I think it's going to be a good and very lively series with Andrew.I like him a lot. We were at Oxford together though we never knew each other then.I was at Jesus College and he was across the street at Exeter. Then he went to All Souls which is strictly for genius level folks. He told me that he had Lawrence of Arabia's room there and his prayer mat was still hanging on the wall. T E Lawrence was an undergraduate at Jesus as it happens. So thanks for your comment. Let me know what you think of the shows.
