I don't know that anyone was more afraid to speak in public than I was..once upon a time!! I forgot all of my lines in my 4th grade play and stood there for what seemed like hours watching the whole school laugh and stare at me. In that moment I decided I would never do that again!!
I joined Toastmasters quite a few years ago and met a lot of people who were fearful just like me. After a little over a year I was elected President and as a competent Toastmaster I moved on from there.
I now speak anywhere I can..Church every Sunday, emcee the fundraiser at the school, weddings, funerals, baby welcomings etc. and I love it. It is great to make a difference in someones life. I also do counseling and I must say froma selfish point of view I get filled up every time!. Hope that helps and I encourage you to move forward with what you hear your calling to be.
