Sara, you pose a most excellent question and what you describe as "getting caught up in things" is the very reason Unity adds the word "Spiritual" to Social Action. When our actions are motivated by a desire to serve Spirit, we see the presence of t…

Profile Information

Do you attend a Unity Church? If so, which one??
Yes. I'm the minister of Unity Church of Raleigh.
About Me:
My dedication to spiritual transformation inspires me to bridge the arenas of spirituality, healing and business. In addition to serving my ministry in Raleigh, I am a certified coach and recently accepted leadership as co-chair of the AUC-I's Spiritual Sacred Action Team. Kelly Isola and I are co-hosting "A World That Works" on Unity.FM.

Service on the Advisory Board of the Association for Global New Thought [since 1999], convener of the Season for Non-Violence, continues to offer powerful avenues both for building bridges and creating greater visibility within and for New Thought. Doors into the InterFaith community are opened by my membership in The Forge Guild.

In 2002, I was part of the visionary team partnering with the county and interfaith community in Tacoma’s 9.11 one-year anniversary event. This 4-month campaign, with a strong vision and no budget, ended up touching the lives of nearly 8000 people, 5000 of which gathered at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma for "9.11: A Day of Memory, Hope and Action."

A unique opportunity for global service was provided during the time I served on the Seattle Team for The Hunger Project [2001 – 2004] www.thp.org.

Other interests include writing (I’m a contributing author to Chocolate for a Woman’s Heart and New Thought: Practical Steps to Living Your Greater Life), my American Eskimo dogs, social artistry, cycling, and climbing–I summitted Washington’s Mt. Rainier in 2002.

A World That Works - Paul Hawken's Commencement Speech - AWESOME Spiritual Social Action!!

Hi,

I hope you tuned in to today's show on "A World That Works!" Kelly and I used Paul Hawken's book, Blessed Unrest as a jumping off point to recognize the ENORMOUS amount of ACTION taking place on the planet today to make the world a better place.

We referenced Paul's Commencement Speech given May 3rd to this year's graduating class at the University of Portland. Here it is ...

When I was invited to give this speech, I was asked if I could give a simple short talk that was "direct, nakedContinue
