Dear Diana,
I've visited your website, you are truly amazing, thank you for being here.
I would also like you to please tell your friend Jill Bolte Taylor how fantastic she is, how much I enjoyed watching her with Oprah, and seeing the video that is circling around.
Peace & many blessings,
Kajsa
Thank you Carlos! I love what I do. In fact, I am in Washington DC at a mental health conference--going to the Capitol tomorrow to advocate for improved mental services and also speak about spirituality and recovery!
Thanks Diana for your enthusiasm! I would welcome any synergy you might bring to this project. Give me a heads-up when you're in the area and I'll give you a tour. Blessings,
I read your profile and see that we share kindred hearts for those who are marginalized by our society. With that in mind, our church has partnered with Community Health Centers of South Central Texas (CHCSCT) in bringing a community medical center to Seguin.
It's a non-profit medical center that will benefit the whole community, but primarily targets the working-poor. The Medical Center will address patient's needs based on a sliding scale (not technically a free clinic, but many will receive services without paying for them). It's a professional medical center staffed with doctors and nurses addressing medical and dental needs. The Center will also provide care for those needing mental health care and counseling. We are currently working with the Guadalupe Valley Christian Counseling Center (Dr. Nick Wilkens) to develop that aspect.
As you know, many people are without insurance and the income to afford proper medical care. They either go without the medical care they need or wind up in our local Hospital's emergency room--a poor substitute for routine medical care.
As a pastor in our community, I see many economically challenged people who fall between the cracks in our current health care system and suffer as a result. As a church, we are trying to respond to their needs. "If you've done it to the least of these, you've done it unto me."
Thanks for your interest and your ministry!
