Hello!
My name is Ishtar. It was in 1989 that I began attending Unity. I am currently the music coordinator at Unity Spiritual Life Center in Oviedo, FL. I am a singer/songwriter/bilingual lyricist.

I have recently released two albums; one in English ('Rebirth') and the other in Spanish, ('Renacer'). Because I am a child at heart, I sing for our children and for the child in each one of us. My songs are about self worth, making good decisions and celebrating life. It seems to me that those are issues that are particularly important in the teenage years. Many of our beliefs, goals and intentions are solidifying at that time. It is my desire to lift up the spirit of our youth, to keep them from despair and to help them realize how valuable they are.

I've heard it said that when you sing, you pray twice. I believe that when you dance you pray thrice. Therefore most, if not all of the songs on the album are designed to inspire movement.

Hola!
Mi nombre es Ishtar. Fue en 1989 que comencé a asistir a Unity. Actualmente soy la coordinadora de música en la iglesia de Unity en Oviedo, FL. Soy cantante / compositora / letrista bilingüe.

Recientemente he publicado dos álbumes, uno en inglés ( 'Rebirth') y el otro en español, ('Renacer'). Porque soy una niña de corazón, canto para nuestros niños y para el niño en cada uno de nosotros. Las canciones hablan acerca de la autoestima, tomar buenas decisiones y celebrar la vida. Me parece que esas son cuestiones que son de particular importancia en la adolescencia. Muchas de nuestras creencias, objetivos e intenciones son solidificadas durante esa etapa de la vida. Es mi deseo levantar el espíritu de nuestra juventud, evitar que caigan en la desesperación y ayudarles a ver lo valiosos que son.

He oído decir que cuando cantas, rezas dos veces. El cantante internacional, Enrique Feliz, dice que cuando usted danza ora tres veces. Por consiguiente, la mayoría de canciones en el álbum están diseñadas para inspirar movimiento.

Convergence of Color

I am a convergence of colors; red, yellow, black and white. At times this has felt like a burden. There was a sensation of being pulled in different directions. Chameleon-like, it was a while before I felt comfortable with my identity. The process of integration never ceases. Now I feel like a bridge. Because I love the kaleidoscope within myself, I can love it as it manifests in my world.

Rollercoaster

Hello friend,

I'm so happy we've found each other!

It's been a few weeks since I last wrote. Much has happened since that time. I am diligently working on the Christmas cantata and have been in the studio singing four part harmony to teach our USLC ensemble. Touching base

Hello friend!

Wow! What an exciting month this has been!
I have been to Unity Village twice. Once for the Spanish Retreat and the other for the New Thought Music Conference.

The theme of the music conference was Shine On (the title of their latest song book).
I wrote a chant and have learned to play it on my new cedar flute. The words are:
