How nice it is to connect with you here, Jon. In reading your profile, we seem to have had some related experiences with Ole Time Religion. I'm grateful for them, as they've shaped my life and taught me so much about "real" love... instead of "reel" love. The lessons were a blessing.
My father and grandfather were both Missouri Methodist ministers, farmers, and true rebels that did all they could to open minds and hearts beyond dogma. People fought them at times... as a preaher's kid, I moved about every two years... but in the end, my dad became one of the most loved and cherished ministers in the state. To me, that is a great accomplishment. Times changed and people saw what he saw in his early years. They joined him.
I send you blessings and light,
Lee Travathan

Hi Jon,
I just got back from vacation and recieved your loving thoughts. I am glad that you are enjoying the show. We are loving doing it. The reason I coach and teach is because it keeps it fresh and alive in me. These teachings have helped me to transform my life and I love sharing them with others.
Thanks for you love and support.

Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm. One thing about Unity you will realize, you've always been a Truth Student but just in a different class. I was fortunate enough to have been raised with Unity as my "religion." However, sometimes I'm not always able to attend a church. So, I am very, very happy about UnityFM.
Have a Great God-Filled Day,
Amee
Hi Jon!
Like Mary - I too followed your breadcrumbs from the Forum where you asked for more info about Abraham-Hicks. Here is a link that will take you directly to their page where they have online mp3 recordings on just the info you're looking for. Here's the link: http://www.abraham-hicks.com/lawofattractionsource/mp3downloads.php
Also, as a cradle Southern/Billy Graham Baptist myself, the information from Eckhart Tolle in his book, The New Earth, has been invaluable to me. Go to this link: http://www.oprah.com/article/oprahsbookclub/anewearth/pkganewearthwebcast/20080130_obc_webcast_watchnow
- where you can watch the entire 10 webcast chapters she and Tolle did this past Spring. Get the book and follow along. You can also participate in an online workbook that goes along with the discussion and book. I downloaded all the chapter webcasts to my iPod and we're going to have a weekly showing and discussion at our Unity in Bethlehem, PA beginning next month. Hope this hasn't been redundant or overwhelming. Congratulations on the next leg of your journey...We're all sojourners together, yes?? kt
Jon, thanks for your note. I came to Unity from a lifelong United Methodist background. My parents were Methodist missionaries in Angola, Africa which is where I grew up. I've been in Unity about twelve years, and have been a Licensed Unity Teacher four years. As that suggests, I have found Unity Principles to be what I had been looking for over a period of many years.
Thanks also for your comment about my website and blog. I hope your daughter finds the article on Lactose Intolerance helpful. My wife has not required any maintenance doses of lactagen for over two years, but has very recently had some minor recurrence of her symptoms. She decided this week to repeat a course of treatment with lactagen for that reason. I hope that's helpful.
Thank you for your comment to me. In answer to your question, yes Hurricane Dolly traveled all the way up here to El Paso and we had lots of rain over the weekend. There was some flooding in the area, but nothing life threatening here to my knowledge.
As many others here, my roots are with the Southern Baptists (having been raised in Southwest Missouri and the Kansas area) and I changed as an adult to United Methodist. After reading some books, I learned about Unity. I did a search on the internet and found our Unity church here in El Paso. My husband and I attended our first service this past Easter Sunday. We have been thrilled with the love, education, and outstanding spiritual support we have received from this amazing group.
I followed you here from the Forum via the trail of nuggets you dropped along the way. I'm enjoying your enthusiasm in finding Unity. I, too, came out of a Southern Baptist, then United Methodist background, and have learned to be truly thankful for every disillusionment that twisted me into a new spiritual shape.
I am a Certified Public Accountant and serve as a finance manager of a large manufacturer of home heating and cooling products. Our company is a household name in this industry. I am a lifelong Methodist and Southern Baptist. In fact, I am an ordained southern Baptist minister. However, that 'Ole Time Religion' finds itself bogged down in too much dogma, and the local congregations seem to thrive on chaos and drama. I found myself in a spiritual mid-life crisis. From my brief exposure to Unity Principles in recent weeks, I believe I've found the spiritual path down which I must travel. I welcome insights and encouragement from my fellow travelers. PEACE!!
