About Me:

I teach philosophy, religion and humanities at Southwestern College in Chula Vista, California. I teach classes like Asian Philosophy, World Mythology, World Religions, Ethics and Introduction to Philosophy. I am also a musician. I write songs, sing and play guitar in my Americana, alt-country folk rock band The Coyote Problem. I also write a monthly column called "Stages: Philosophy, Art, Culture and Music" in a magazine called The Troubadour. When I'm not doing all these oh so very important things, I'm playing in the lawn with my wife Lori and my dog Boone.

The Love of Wisdom

Philosophy is one of those words we’re supposed to know the meaning of, but don’t. Most people think it simply means one’s point of view, as in “my philosophy of life”.
