Poem - Listen To Me

For those of you who listened to Spiritual Relationship, part 2 (March 17, 2009) here is the poem we read:

Listen to Me
“When I ask you to LISTEN TO ME and you start giving me advice, you HAVE NOT done what I asked. When I ask you to LISTEN TO ME and you begin to tell me why I shouldn’t feel the way I am feeling, you are trampling on my feelings.

“When I ask you to LISTEN TO ME, please don’t feel that you have to do something to save me or solve my problems. When you try to MAKE me FEEL better… Continue

Spirituality is sexy-do you agree?

Joining me on World Spirituality on February 10th is Pamela Mcquade who believes that real spirituality is sexy. Tune in to discover what she means and send in your own ideas via this blog and on the show.

Andrew Harvey on World Spirituality

I am interested to know your thoughts about Andrew Harvey's intiatives regarding Sacred Activism. His call for a true embrace of what he calls transcendent mysticism with immanent activism as a crucially important way to move us through and beyond the current crises that are facing our world strikes chords with me.
His call to "follow your heartbreak",to integrate the devastation and the sorrow, the dark as well as the light, is more controversial in Unity circles where we are encouraged to "look… Continue

World Spirituality..so far

Hello,This is my first blog.I takes me a while to catch on to the new technology available.
Wanted to ask for feedback about the World Spirituality show. I'm up to the 23rd show now!
It has been a wonderful opportunity to explore themes common to all people and faith traditions.
There is no danger of running out of topics or ideas! i'm so glad that unity.fm exists. Blessings,Paul

Another blessed day to you and yours, Paul. I'm still very much enjoying the archived programs and currently wondering if you ever thought of hosting a show dedicated entirely to Carl Jung. I think such a show would be of great merit and interest, given that, in my opinion, Jung's influence has been formative and essential to the entire "New Age" (I personally do not like that label) movement in joining the "Eastern" and "Western" spiritualities. (Again, I am reluctant to use labels here.) I also feel that a show specifically dedicated to Egyptian religion (and how it relates to Christianity) may be of great interest to many. On that, I will leave you to your tremendous work!! Thanks again for your great efforts in a great world. Namaste.

Hi Paul. I just wanted to thank you for your the many great and inspiring shows that you continue to host. I am an avid student of world religions and comparative philosophy and would just like to recommend a terrific book that I think you would thoroughly enjoy if you have not already read it: Twentieth Century Religious Thought, by Anglican Christian theologian, John MacQuarrie. (Please don't think I'm trying to spam you here!) The book primarily covers the thought of Western theology and philosophy, but I think you and others will find this book particularly valuable as an even-handed and insightful survey of our culture and, ultimately, ourselves. Thanks again for your time and ongoing efforts toward world enlightenment. Namaste.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the personal message. I really have enjoyed listening to archived recordings of your show. The perspectives you bring fill an intellectual and spiritual void I have felt all my life as a follower of Christ and respecter of all paths to Christ consciousness. Though I have gotten a lot out of all the podcasts I have listened to over the past year, my favorite guest is Peter Bolland from San Diego. He has a very special way of communicating spiritual insight in a truly loving, civil, respectful, and extremely knowledgable way. I would love to hear more from him in the future.

Blessed in West Virginia,

Brad

Will do, Paul. Have missed being at church these last few weeks while we were traveling. Looking forward to getting back next week. DK really liked Papa Charlie's - loves working with Miriam.

Wow! That's great that Miriam is a nurse, too. No, I haven't checked out the Springwater Center, because my Rochester is in MINNESOTA. I work at the Mayo Clinic here.

Thanks. It's good to connect with you and see how well you are doing. Hope Miriam is well, too. I am here in Rochester, working as an oncology nurse, which I was inspired to do after Truett's death in 1993. It just took 17 years to do it! (I didn't realize it at first; it just came later.) All is well, of course, except we don't have a Unity church. The city used to at one time, but it seems that it's gone now.

Hi Rev. Paul,
Thank you for your sweet note. I am enjoying listening to your show both current and past conversations. I would love to visit Unity Fort Worth sometime. Do you ever visit Unity Dallas? Karen Epps is also so inspiring.
Much Love,
Kimberly
