I believe that Jesus would want all people provided for in the best way but not at the expense of others. To provide care for one and take it from another or make another pay more for the same care is not what I think Jesus would do.
I agree that we should have a goal of helping the less fortunate, but I would think Jesus would be more interested in your personal actions in helping others. He didn't express a lot of interest in politics.
